Celiac Misc. Information

What does the first grocery look like when you are newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease and haven't had the chance to inform yourself and do a bit of research?

Part of the 1st groceries after diagnosis.

I'm not going to lie, we were a bit, ok - a lot, unsettled when we read we had to "deep clean" and remove gluten contaminated items from our kitchen.

There is a lot of information available on the internet today. From official government sites to personal blogs. Someone has asked the same questions we have. It's been reassuring to find resources as I've been educating myself (and my husband 😉).

Here is a list of links that I found useful:

Government of Canada: For information on what you can claim on your income taxes, scroll down to Gluten-free food products – Persons with celiac disease can claim the incremental costs associated with buying gluten-free food products as a medical expense....
